In a strategic move aimed at elevating standards within Nigerian Civil Aviation, President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned sweeping changes in the leadership of key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The recent decisions, effective immediately, mark a significant step towards enhancing consumer protection and the overall well-being of Nigerian passengers and stakeholders.

The following high-profile changes have been approved:

1. Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku takes the helm as the new Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), succeeding Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed.

2. Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk assumes the role of Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), succeeding Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo.

3. Mr. Alex Badeh Jr. steps into the position of Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), succeeding Engr. Akinola Olateru.

4. Prof. Charles Anosike succeeds Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu as the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).

5. Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe assumes the role of Acting Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), succeeding Capt. Alkali Mahmud Modibbo.

6. Capt. Chris Najomo takes charge as the Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following the suspension of Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu. The suspension facilitates an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into the activities of the suspended DG and other senior officials.
